Indonesian media reported that Jay Chou had died from drugs overdose

Yesterday, Indonesian media reported that Jay Chou had died from drugs overdose, and this shocking news quickly spread fast. This isn't the first time Jay has been rumoured to have died. In early 2004, a large Chinese website allegedly reported that Jay had died from a car accident. The report was even very emphatic in describing how Jay was on his way back to his management company when a large truck suddenly collided with his car. Furthermore they reported that the driver of Jay's car had immediately died at the scene, and Jay and staff members were rushed to hospital, but it was already too late, and he was pronounced dead.

Yesterday, many people on Facebook were intensely discussing about how Indonesian meda reported that Jay had died from drugs overdose in a remote place, and this shocking news quickly spread fast. Reporters immediately contacted Jay's management company JVR and they expressed that this news is ridiculous. Jay is fine and is currently in America filming 'The Green Hornet', and warned the public not to believe these rumours.

Yoga threatened by Taxi driver

On a radio show last night, Yoga Lin revealed a little incident he had with a Taxi driver.  When he told the driver, "please take me to the building across from here," the driver responded rudely, "You have to say 'U-turn', not 'across'."  Yoga replied instantly, "I used the same term on another ride before and the driver was fine with it."  The driver suddenly turned his head to glare at Yoga and took out something that looked like a screwdriver.  Yoga immediately decided to get off the car, but the driver asked, "so you want to get off to fight me one on one?" Yoga managed to get off the car after paying, but before he could close the door completely, the driver already headed off.

Thinking back at the incident, Yoga said, "I was so mad that my body started shaking, while thinking what I should do next."  He called the police afterwards, but because the conversation wasn't recorded, nothing could be done.

Yoga has been busy working out lately, and many people believed that it is because he wanted to look better on screen.  However, Yoga revealed that he just wants to increase his ability to defend himself.  He mentioned that his friends had once been robbed during a vacation abroad.  Thus, he advised everyone, "It's important to protect yourself, and don't act rashly."

Jacky Xue Begins "My Athena" Promotions

posted by: tamirisns in aiyatheydidnt

With a live concert performance, three album releases, and numerous musical awards under his belt, 26-year old mainland Chinese singer Jacky Xue (薛之謙) is not exactly a stranger to the music scene. In preparation for a late November release of his fourth album, Jacky Xue started promotions for a new single titled “My Athena”.

The new single, which has a slightly mellow dance club feel to it, contrasts quite a bit from his previous single promoted in September titled “Incomplete Song”, a much more ballad tune that was still holding in the top ten in last week’s Baidu Chinese Music Charts. The different styles of Jacky’s two songs released in this half of the year gives a glimpse the variety that Jacky says that he hopes to aim for in his upcoming album.

Ariel Lin travels abroad, smart like Huang Rong

Nov. 7th, 2009 | 03:59 pm

posted by: rikayla in aiyatheydidnt

When Ariel Lin goes abroad for vacation, she’s like Jin Yong’s Huang Rong – clever and eccentric. Aside from being fully equipped to protect herself, she’s also doesn’t act like a tourist, telling backpackers: “If you want to look at your map, always use a magazine as a cover, so people won’t see [that you’re a tourist].”

Ariel on average accepts two dramas a year. She’s currently preparing for a stage play. Because the body (physical) movements in the play are highlyg demanding, her body is aching all over and she usually doesn’t have enough sleep. Good thing is she normally has very good, healthy habits, so she still appears to be in high spirits.

She hasn’t had time to go abroad lately, so she relies on watching movies to release the pressure at work. Ariel laughed and said: “Whenever I watch an horror movie I start fantasizing. Since watching the movie “Hostel”, I don’t dare travel alone!”

Angela Zhang bids for Michael Jackson vinyl record, snatched away by Jackie Chan for $1.57 million

Nov. 7th, 2009 | 03:55 pm

posted by: rikayla in aiyatheydidnt

For her beloved Michael Jackson vinyl record, Angela Zhnag would not give up even for famous showbiz veteran Jackie Chan! Recently, the two of them were intensely bidding for an autographed MJ vinyl record, in the end the bid shot up to a crazy $330,000 RMB (approx $1.57 million NTD).

On November 2, Angela Zhang flew over to Shanghai to sing "Invisible Wings" for the "2009 Gary Player Invitational Event" which was a charity function in support of orphans suffering from AIDS. Furthermore, she participated in a charity auction together with Jackie Chan, Wilber Pan, JJ Lin and other artists, all giving their compassion. Unexpectedly, Jackie Chan and Angela Zhang became bidding opponents.

At the function, JJ Lin was in charge of auctioning a limited edition autographed Jackson vinyl record at the opening bid of $100,000 RMB. Angela Zhang who has always seen Michael Jackson as her idol, immediately started to bid. Who knew that Jackie Chan would follow, shouting prices with a determined expression. The two of them consecutively bidded 4-5 times, competing fiercely; in the end Jackie Chan was the highest bidder as $330,000 RMB, making Angela feel a bit disappointed.

Angela who lost the bid, sang her signature comforting song "Invisible Wings" at the function and suddenly asked Jackie Chan to come onstage to sing with her. He assertively went onstage and although he wasn't very familiar with the lyrics, he still happily hummed along. This was their first duet together and although this had not been rehearsed before, they had great tacit understanding and the atmosphere of the scene reached its peak.

Yoga Lin

Yoga, who has just released his second album, “Senses Around,” displaying his unique style, will be the first pop artist to collaborate with the NSO. At the press conference, Yoga showed a taste of the upcoming concert by singing Eason Chan’s “你會不會" (Do you know?) accompanied by a harp.

There will be three concerts held at different venues starting on November 21. Yoga revealed that he picked 8 songs to perform, which includes Luo Da You’s “鹿港小鎮” (The little town called Lugang), David Huang’s “Passion”, Anthony Wong’s “憶苦思甜” (Past sufferings and sweet memories), Cheer Chen’s”溫室花朵” (A Greenhouse flower), and songs of his own: “解High人” (Killjoy) and “殘酷月光” (A Cruel Moon).

Netizens have been criticizing Yoga for being too stiff and emotionless in his performance at Miss Asia. Will Yoga redeem himself here?

Here's a clip of Yoga singing Eason Chan's "你會不會" (Do you know?)

Birthday boys Arron Yan and Calvin Chen were pranked

Fahrenheit's Wu Chun, Jiro Wang, Calvin Chen and Arron Yan due to filming contracts have had to go separate ways, causing non-stop rumors of them not getting along with each other and disbanding, but the four members have continuously showed that their friendship has not ended. Yesterday all members were present to film the Coca-Cola advert, Wu Chun and Jiro had a secret plan to help celebrate Calvin and Arron's birthday which are in November, even making the director join in with the prank, causing them both to shout "we've been pranked".

The advert was shot on 4 consecutive days, on the last day the director suddenly changed the script placing it upon Calvin and Arron, no matter how they acted the director wasn't pleased, re- shooting the scene over and over again. Calvin extremely puzzled said " The last few days the director has been really nice, has he taken the wrong medicine today?". Arron was also shouted to complete bewilderment, the director then finally cursed "Can you two not act it out?" and then shouted for a 5 minutes break. With the tense atmosphere, suddenly the whole studio went dark, Wu Chun and Jiro took out the hidden cake and after seeing the candle light, they both realized what had happened.

Calvin argued that he vaguely guessed that they were playing a joke, Arron from start to finish was scolded until near crazy, he was completely fooled. Calvin made a wish that he can buy a house soon and also previously for raising money for the 8/8 flood victims he designed a T-shirt for online sales, recently he donated the $100 000 NT to the TVBS compassion fund doing charity to celebrate his birthday.

Dee Hsu, the Taiwanese host of popular variety programme, Here Comes Kang Xi, made headlines a few months ago with her openness of becoming the ambassador of lingerie.

At a press conference held on Tuesday, the 31-year-old jokingly revealed that her father-in-law was unable to concentrate on his stocks when he watched her new lingerie advertisement and would blush whenever she greets him now, "My father-in-law has fallen in love with his daughter-in-law all over again!"

The cheeky mother-of-two went on to share the innerwear's positive firming effects experienced by her mother-in-law and her mother. Unfazed by her own candid comments, Dee revealed that her in-laws are not bothered by her jokes and really dote on her.

Known for her mischievous antics with fellow male guests on her variety show, Dee was labeled by the media to be 'Taiwan's Number One Lecherous Woman'. Her open-minded and brash actions have left many in wide-eyed amazement and worried many others who are afraid that she might offend people in the process.

The bubbly host shared that her endorsed products is currently doing well in the market. On her plans to have a third baby, Dee humourously quipped, "Recently, I got carried away by fame and fortune. I only have one programme left now and I do not plan to have a third child."

Zhang Ziyi to Produce Second Film

Nov. 5th, 2009 | 09:00 pm
posted by: lehninguh in aiyatheydidnt

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

The domestic success of her first film as producer has pushed Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi to target a wider audience with her next project.

Zhang is working with her friends Wendi Murdoch and Florence Sloan to produce the English-language film "Snow Flower and the Secret Fan", according to Hollywoodreporter.com.

The actress will also star in the film, which will be directed by Chinese-American filmmaker Wayne Wang, who also did "Maid in Manhattan".

Set in 19th-century China, the film is based on Lisa See's novel of the same name about a lifelong friendship between two women.

Shooting is slated to begin early next year in China.

Zhang Ziyi made her production debut with the urban romantic comedy "Sophie's Revenge", in which she played the lead character. The film opened in China in mid-August and soon turned new director Jin Yimeng into the most bankable female director on the mainland.

Since the Oscar-winning 2000 film "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", Zhang Ziyi has become perhaps the best-known Chinese face in Hollywood. Her most recent English-language feature, "Horsemen", was released earlier this year.

Previous reports suggest Zhang had teamed up with Wendi Murdoch and Florence Sloan to run a film studio. China-born Wendi Murdoch is the wife of News Corporation chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch. Florence Sloan, a Malaysian-Chinese, is married to MGM chairman Harry Sloan.

Hollywoodreporter.com describes Zhang Ziyi as "following the practice of big Hollywood talent: establishing her own production company to pull in projects for herself and control a greater share of revenue."

Li Bing Bing on Zhou Xun comparisons: 'We are only being ourselves'

In town to grace the official opening of Burberry in ION Orchard with Korean actor, Won Bin, Chinese actress Li Bing Bing was the focal point of attention when she made her grand entrance with a huge smile.

Dressed in a chic white cocktail dress, the gracious actress obliged and answered every single question posed by the media.

On her Best Actress nomination for The Message at the inaugural Taiwanese Golden Horse Awards, she said, "To be honest, I am really happy. This nomination is a kind of reaffirmation.

"I hope that everyone will enjoy the movie because I believe everyone knows about the historic story that is told in the movie."

Frequently compared to her compatriot and fellow co-star in movie, Zhou Xun, Li gave her two-cents worth. "For every movie, the media will often create a talking point. When two actresses are together, they will talk about disputes and disharmony. When a male and female actress is paired together, they will come up with rumours. I feel that we are only being ourselves no matter what kind of news there is."

The 33-year-old revealed that she currently has no plans to expand her career to the Hollywood market. "I feel that the current movie industry in China is really good. Local Chinese people really enjoy watching their local productions onscreen. Fate plays a part in whether or not I will further develop my career in Hollywood. If there is [fate], I'll go. If there is none, I am really comfortable remaining in China."

Displaying the amiable side of her, actress continued to gamely pose for pictures upon entering the store. Local celebrities such as Zoe Tay, Christopher Lee, Huang Shi Nan, Irene Ang, Kit Chan, and Jacelyn Tay were also present.

The Message is currently screening in all local theatres.
